Rev. Ricky Davis, Sr., 48, resident of Essex died Friday, May 13, 2011at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 9, 1962 in Essex to the late John Henry and Beatrice Hester Davis, Sr.

He was a graduate of Richland High School Class of 1981 and attended Southern Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and has served as a Public Safety Officer for New Madrid and Dunklin counties.

He was united in marriage to Annette Fisher who survives and was the pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in LaForge, Missouri.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Ricky Dewayne Davis, Jr. of Essex and Aaron Stafford of Lilbourn, one daughter, Priscilla Denise Johnson of Sikeston, four step daughters, Cynthia (DeVelle) Ayers, and NaKasha (Dennis) Williams of Cape Girardeau, Victoria Fisher and Latwaine Fisher of Sikeston, five brothers, Larry Davis and John Davis, Jr. of St. Louis, Randy Davis, Sr. of Memphis, TN, Dale Farr Sikeston of Sikeston, and Ted Whittaker of Essex, seven sisters, Barbara Tippett of St. Louis, Gwen Davis, Sherry Davis and Jackie Wofford of Sikeston, Janice McFerren of New Madrid, Michelle Beasley of Atlanta, Carolyn Weaver of Arkadelphia, AR, and Judy Robinson of North Carolina, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, May 21, 2011 Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston with Bishop Ronnie Webb and Pastor Earnest Willis officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery with Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
