Mr. Carlandus Edward Mallory, 60, resident of Cairo, IL died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was born November 19, 1950 in Cairo to the late Emmett and Hernean Pirtle Mallory.
He was a member of Jesus is Lord Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a church trustee.
He attended Sumner High School and graduated from Cairo High School. He later attended the University of Illinois in Champaign.
He was a member of the Cairo School Board, The Cairo Booster Club and was a beloved member, DJ, and a former President of the Cavelier’s Club. He retired from Westvaco in Wycliffe, KY after 37 years of service.
He is survived by his fiancée, Barbara Ann Riggens of Charleston, four sons, Mark Tucker of Kentucky, Carlandus Ware and Kevin McAllister of Cairo, Jonathan Ellis of Omaha, NE, six daughters, Victoria Howard of Austin, TX, Anissa Alexander, Gia (Lee) Wright, Gabriella Ware, Kathie McAllister and Kanessha Mallory of Cairo, three sisters, Willie Ann Hart of Milwaukee, WI, Minister Pamela Edwards of Fairbanks, AK and Susie Miller of Maywood, IL, 28 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, Washington, D.C. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at the Cairo High School with Pastor Hubert R. Pirtle officiating . Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, IL.
