John Raymon Murray, 62, resident of Charleston died May 23, 2011 at his home. He was born November 6, 1948 in Charleston to the late Luther and Rudell Rush Murray, Sr. and was a lifelong Mississippi County resident.
He was a member of Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist in Mound City, Illinois and was employed by Ronnie Rowlings farms for over 32 years.
He was united in marriage to Lucille McElroy who survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Shawn and Tracy Murray of Kansas City, MO and Aaron and Rolanda Murray of Mounds, IL, five daughters and two sons-in-law, Monica Murray, Shanicka Bogan, LaWanda Murray and Erica and Antonio Riggens of Charleston and Audreia and Wendell Johnson of Saginaw, MI, three brothers, Richard Murray, Harry Murray and Norman Murray of Charleston, four sisters, Estella Coleman and Katherine McCauley of Charleston, Gloria Murray of Bertrand and Edna Campbell of East Prairie, 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Full Gospel Church in East Prairie Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
