Marvin Joseph Mercer

Marvin Joseph Mercer, 62, resident of Sikeston died June 4, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born December 2, 1948 in Hushpuckin, Mississippi to the late Marvin Joseph Betts and Ruby Mae Dorsey.

He is survived by three sons, Jermaine Betts of Topeka, Kansas and Chris Artis of Sikeston, and Rashuan Betts of Chicago, Illinois, two daughters, Thelma Moore of Sikeston and Marvetta Betts of New Madrid, Missouri, one brother, Bill Standors of Chicago, Illinois, three sisters, Ceola Betts of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Marilyn Dorsey and Mable Dorsey of Sikeston, 6 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 12:00 noon at West End Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with Pastor Chester Yarber officiating. Williams Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
