Mildred Myrtle Hodge

March 25, 1919 — June 12, 2011

Mrs. Mildred Myrtle Hodge Davis, 92 resident of Cairo, died June 12, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born March 25, 1919 in Cache, Illinois to the late Richard Rush and Barbara Buckman.

She attended Alexander County Public Schools and worked with the Department of Family and Children Services and the Illinois department of Public Aide. She was also owner of the Hodge Funeral Home in Cairo, Illinois for many years. She was a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ in Cairo and a member of the Silver Leaf Church Aid Society.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Judson and Minnie Childs and Jesse Hodge of Cairo, Illinois, Longene and Maryann Childs of Decatur, Illinois, four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara and Andrew Holder of Decatur, Linda and David Baldwin and Maria and Elbert Purchase of Cairo, Vicki Hodge of Chicago, 31 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 44 great great grandchildren, 36 great great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00noon at First Baptist church in Cairo with the Reverend Jimmy Ellis officiating. Interment will in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, Illinois.
