Reflections of Life
Henry J. Everett was born November 7, 1951 in Mound, Illinois the son of Ivo and Pearlina Rogers Everett, Sr. He was one of twelve siblings; four boys and eight girls. His parents, two brothers, Ivo Everett, Jr. and Odell Everett, two sisters, Irene Everett and Annie Washington and one daughter, Shata have all preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Meridian High School and served in the United States Army.
He was employed by Gilster-Mary Lee Corp - Pasta Plant in Steeleville, Illinois and later by Ashdown Speaker Factory in Crittenden, Kentucky before becoming disabled.
Henry realized there was a void in his life and accepted Christ into his life at an early. He was currently a member of Glory of God Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri under the leadership of Elder Elisha Pullen where he was faithful until his health failed.
Brother Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He especially found joy in gardening in the past few years and the challenge of gardening in a small space gave him great pleasure. He would often talk of the things he was raising.
Brother Henry was a family man who loved his wife, children and family. There was no mistake that he had a great love for God but he also treasured those around him. He was soft spoken man that was loved by all who came in contact with him.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Lela Brown.
On Thursday, June 16, 2011 God dispatched His angels to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at 7:40 A. M. to bring back the soul of our beloved Brother Henry J. Everett at the age 59 years, seven months and nine days.
