Ora Lee Davis, 66, resident of Sikeston died Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born November 26, 1944 in Parking, Arkansas to the late Madison and Katherine Jackson Moore.
She was a foster parent for the state of Missouri and a member of House of Refuge Church of God in Christ in Sikeston under the leadership of her husband where she served on the Mother’s Board and as the First Lady.
She originated the Wednesday Community Dinners and the Thanksgiving Dinners in Sikeston.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Elder Monroe Davis on September 18, 1960 who survives of the home
In addition to her husband she is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Riley and Karen Davis of Columbia, MO, Tony and Tonya Davis of Hannibal, MO, Tephone Tyrone and Doris Davis of Milwaukee, WI, Riley Davis, Jr. and Damon Davis of Sikeston, two daughters and one son-in-law, Pearl Renee and Cheivaule Fields of Milwaukee, and Tawanda Washington of Sikeston, two brothers, John Thomas Moore and Roy Moore of Sikeston, two sisters, Pearlie Mae Dixon and Vera Rainey of Sikeston, 27 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston with the pastor, Bishop Charlie Green, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
