Percy Visor, Sr. 75, resident of Charleston died Friday, August 26, 2011 at his home. He was born August 12, 1936 in Batesville, MS to the late Lura and Alzadie Kuykandall Visor.
He was a self-employed contractor and plumber and of the Baptist faith.
He was united in marriage to Doretha Harton Visor who survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons and one daughter-in-law, Percy Visor, Jr., Dale and Natasha Jackson and Mark Jackson of Kansas City, MO, Brian Visor of Charleston and Tyrone Taylor of Cape Girardeau, seven daughters, Quanda Visor and Leslie Visor of Lawrenceville, GA, Pamela Visor of Omaha, NE, Bridgett Visor and Louise Webb of Kansas City, MO, Diane Whitehead of St. Louis and Penny Coleman of Cape Girardeau, one brother, Willis Visor of Charleston, three sisters, Edith Woodard, Emma Earby and Mary Ann Edwards of Cleveland, OH, seven grandchildren, four great grand-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday, September 2, 2011 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston with Rev. Arthur Cassell pastor of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
