Lorene Farr

Lorene Farr, 70, resident of Howardville, died at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on October 7, 2011. She was born April 3, 1941 in Crenshaw, MS to the late Harper and Willie Lee Scott Cook.
She retired from New Madrid County Public Schools where she was employed as a cook for over 30 years.
She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn where she was the church clerk, president of the Mission Board and a member of the Mothers’ Board. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Queen Anne Grand Chapter for over 45 years, grand matron of Local Chapter Mariah #8 of Howardville, Missouri and a member of Heroines of Jericho and Daughters of Sphinx.
On April 3, 1964 she was united in marriage to Clennon “Jim” Farr who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Gwen Farr of Lilbourn, four brothers , James Cook of Saginaw, MI, L. C. Cook of Chicago, Robert Cook of Decatur, IL and Melvin Cook of Sardis, MS, four sisters, Rosie Mae Washington of Saginaw, Fannie Handley of Sikeston, Deloris Harper of Sardis and Annyce Lockett of Memphis, TN, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn with the pastor, Dr. Kenneth Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in Simmons Park Cemetery in Catron.
