Mildred Morris

Mildred Thomas Morris, 78, resident of Charleston died November 12, 2011 at 10:45 P. M. at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Center. She was born January 5, 1933 in Charleston to the late Grover and Mabel Bankhead Thomas.
She attended Charleston Public School and was a graduate of the Licensed Practical Nurse School in Poplar Bluff and worked many years for Dr. John Samples and Dr. T. P. Fenton.

She was a member of Jehovah Witness Congregation in East Prairie, Missouri and Cairo, Illinois.

She was married to Leon Morris February 11. 1967 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1992. She was also preceded in death by five sisters.

She is survived by one brother, Sidney Charles Dixon of Charleston, one sister, Alice L. Dixon of Charleston, two step sons, Michael Morris of Pulaski, Illinois and Leon Morris of Cairo, Illinois, one step daughter, Sandra Clemons of Cairo, and a number of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews or relatives and friends.

Memorial Service will be Friday, November 18, 2011 at 1:00 P. M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Bro. Roy LeBlanc will officiate.

Cremains will be buried in the National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois at a later date.
