Felix Betts, 85, resident of Detroit, MI died November 26, 2011 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born March 5, 1926 in Charleston, MO to the late Elijah and Louise Thomas Betts, Sr. and had lived in Detroit for over 55 years.
He attended New Testament Church of God In Christ and Saint Mark Church of God In Christ in Detroit and received an honorable discharge from the United States Army.
He married Ann Darden on November 14, 1954 who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Gwendolyn Johnson of Chicago Heights, IL, two brothers, Gary Betts of Indianapolis, IN and Pastor Steve Betts of Charleston, MO, eight sisters, Dorcas Spence and Deborah Turner of Charleston, Mo, Ruth Simpson and Jennie Townsend of Kankakee, IL, LaBirdia Moore, Betty Burns, and Delores Salmon of St. Louis, MO, Rochelle McVay of Memphis, TN, four grandsons and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, December 3, 2011from 11:00 am until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Opportunity of Church of God in Christ in Charleston with Elder Steve Betts, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with full military honors. The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
