Ruth Garrett Bonds

Ruth Garrett Bonds, 80, resident of Sikeston, died December 29, 2011 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born June 26, 1931 in Ponotoc, Mississippi to the late Wash and Eugene White Garrett and lived in Missouri since 1967.

She married Leroy Bonds, and he preceded her in death after 48 years of marriage.

She was a member of Greer’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Sikeston, where she served on the Mother’s Board.

She is survived by one son, Patrick Bonds of Sikeston, one sister, Gertrude Garrett, three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. at Greer’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with her nephew, Reverend E.H. Garrett of Marianna, Arkansas officiating. Interment will follow in Haywood City Cemetery in Haywood City, Missouri.
