Ophelia Farries Mason, 67, resident of Charleston, Missouri died January 7, 2012 peacefully at her home in Charleston. She was born August 27, 1944 in rural Charleston to the late Joe and Maebell Kellie Farries.
She attended Lincoln School in Charleston and became a Certified Nurse Assistant.
She was a member of Jehovah Witness Congregation in East Prairie, Missouri and Cairo, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Mason of the home, three sons, Joe Lee Farries of Atlanta, Georgia, Mack Watson and Shon Watson of Sikeston, Missouri, four daughters and two sons-in-law, Veronica and John Verner of Pope, Mississippi, Melissa Watson of Sikeston, Semeitra Watson of Atlanta, and Carlithia and Daniel Mathis of Louisville, Kentucky, four brothers, Raymond Farris and John Wesley Farris of Chicago, Illinois, Joe Farries Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, and Micheal Farries of Atlanta, six sisters, Elizabeth Lynch of Evansville, Indiana, Charla Clark, Evelyn Randle, and Flora Farries all of Charleston, Ethel Robinson of Chicago, and Mary Lane of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, one adopted sister, Marilyn Williams of Charleston, 22 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour of 11:00 am at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston with Brother Carl Clark officiating.
Cremation will follow at a later date.
