William F. Holland, Jr. 68 of Detroit, formerly of Cairo died April 23, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Cairo. He was born in Cairo to the late William F. and Theresa M. Purchase Holland, Sr.
He moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1967 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Detroit.
He was united in marriage to Thea Dane Holland who survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons, Bruce Manterano of Maywood, IL and William Holland III, Robert Holland, Devon Wilson and Spencer Holland of Detroit, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Regina and Timothy Carlton-Brown of Cairo, IL and Elaine and Jason Wilson-Jones and Destiny D. Wilson of Detroit, two brothers, Ralph S. Holland and Donald Jones of Chicago, one sister, Linda Jones of Cairo, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday, April 30, 2012 from 9:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 10:00 A. M. at First Central Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo with Rev. Lorenzo Nelson and Rev. Craig Purchase officiating.
