Eric Pierce, 59, resident of Chicago, formerly of Charleston died Thursday, May 3, 2012 in Chicago. He was born November 4, 1952 in Charleston to the late Waymon and Rovine Crider Pierce.

He was a graduate of Charleston High School and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was employed by the United States Postal Services in Chicago where he retired in 1991.

He was united in marriage to Winnie Davis on December 7, 1973.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Marcus Pierce of Chicago, one daughter, Nicole Allen of Des Plaines, IL, three brothers, Gregory Pierce of Hanover, IL, Roddy Pierce of Charleston and Raymond Pierce of Mattson, IL, three sisters, Lee Ethel Pierce of Charleston, Erma Bates of Chicago and Winda Pierce Ellis of Bellwood, IL four grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Opportunity Church of God in Christ with the pastor, Elder Steve Betts officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
