Sylvester "Fat" Sims

Sylvester Sims, 57, affectionately known as “Fat” died June 9, 2012 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born October 5, 1954 in New Madrid to the late George Bob and Genevieve Miller Sims.
He attended New Madrid County Schools where he was a member of the 1972 graduating class and was member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid.
He was employed by Riceland Foods, Inc. in Marston and a member of United Steel Union Local #7686.
He is survived by two sons, Sevell L. Robinson of St. Louis and Desmond Sims of Columbia, MO, two brothers, Williams Sims and Robert Sims of Wichita, KS, four sisters, Lynda Sims and Barbara Sims of Wichita, Jennie Miller of Chicago and Doris Sims of Fort Wayne, IN, one grandson, one granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday, June 15, 2012 from 7: 00 P. M. – 9:00 P. M. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid with the funeral Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Carl Nichols and Rev. Leotis Aikens officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery in New Madrid with Williams Funeral Home of Howardville in charge of arrangements.
