Brenda Blackmon Hatchett, 51, resident of Sikeston died Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born April 21, 1961 in Hayti, Mo to the late John D and Dorotha Mae Selma Blackmon and of the Baptist faith.
She was a former employee of Thorngate, Ltd in Cape until their closing and was currently employed by Pyramid In-Home Health Care in Sikeston. She was a graduate of Scott Central High School class of 1979.
On October 13, 2009 she was united in marriage to John Hatchett who survives of Sikeston.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons; Jonathan Blackmon of Sikeston and Janeil Hatchett of Springfield, MO, one daughter, Sheena Blackmon of Sikeston, eight brothers, T. C. Blackmon, Willie Blackmon and Emmanuel Blackmon of Chicago, Robert Blackmon of Farmington, John D. Blackmon and Nathaniel Blackmon of Haywood City, Jerry Dean Blackmon of Sikeston and Russell Phiffer of Cape Girardeau, six sisters, Velma Lee Blackmon of Chicago, Ethel Hamilton and Joyce Scott of Sikeston, Dorothy Chamberlain of Haywood City, Mary Blackmon of Cape Girardeau and Earnestine Blackmon of Perryville, seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston with Rev. Alex Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the New Morning Star Cemetery near Haywood City with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
