Laterrance Dashaun Newsom

LaTerrance DaShaun Newsom, affectionately known as Shaun, 24, died October 11, 2012 in Killeen, Texas. He was born December 23, 1987 in Sikeston, Missouri to Chris Collins of Sikeston and Terrlyn Newsom of Killeen.

He was a graduate of New Madrid County High School Class of 2006. He was of the Baptist faith and a United States Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sons, DaShaun Newsom and Kamarii Newsom of New Madrid, Jaxson Newsom of Killeen and Dearious Newsom of Sikeston, three daughters, Jai’dah Newsom of Killeen, Aneesa Rucker of Lilbourn, Missouri and Sherdaya Daniels of Howardville, Missouri, his grandfather and step-grandmother, Tommy and Willa Mae Newsom of Lilbourn, one brother, Evenyel Kelly of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, five sisters, Vonteria Applewhite, Danyiel Kelly, Quatiana Collins and Qwenteria Collins of Sikeston and Deasia Newsom of New Madrid, his step-father, Danyiel Kelley of Poplar Bluff. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Ann Newsom.

Friends may call Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 P.M. at New Madrid Baptist Church, 1240 Scott Street, with Reverend Earl Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in Simmons Park Cemetery in Catron with full military honors with the Williams Funeral Home of Howardville in charge of arrangements.
