Sherwood Cross Jr

Sherwood Cross, Jr., 68, resident of Charleston, died November 22, 2012 while a patient at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born January 18, 1944 in Charleston to the late Sherwood and Ardell Walker Cross, Sr.
He was united in marriage on December 25, 1977 to Marzella Mason who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Audrey Cross of St. Louis, five brothers, Marshall Straughter of Aura, IL, Donnie Straughter of Charleston, Herman Straughter of Bertrand, Ricki Cross or Ypsilanti, Mi and Donald Cross of Niles, MI, 14 sisters, Beverly Jones and Georgia Riggens of Charleston, Clara Johnson and Margaret Hellen Hassel of St. Louis, Ava Houg of the state of Texas, Melody Woods and Wanda Mack of Ypsilanti, MI, Darlinda Cross, Judy Scott and Jackie Farrow of Niles, MI, April Davis of Atlanta, GA, Joyce Quinn of College Park, IL, Phyllis Harris of Battle Creek, MI, and Nanette Austin of Indianapolis, IN, one step son, Gregory Mason of Murfreesboro, TN, one step daughter, Sandra Mason of St. Louis, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at House of Prayer World Outreach Center , 216 North Elm Street in Charleston with Minister LaTonya Whitney officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
