James Wesley Gardner

James Wesley Gardner, affectionately known as “Sugar Crisp” , 85 years of age, resident of Charleston, Missouri died December 20, 2012 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was born June 4, 1927 in Oaklona, Mississippi to the late Thornton Gardner and Mattie Henson Gardner and was a resident of Missouri for many years.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Charleston.

He is survived by one sister, Luvera Gardner of Charleston and by a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Friends may call Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 12:00 noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Reverend Wiley Reed officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
