Maggie Lavern Robinson, 78, affectionately known as Little Maggie, resident of Cairo, Illinois, died February 27, 2013 at the home of her daughter. She was born October 31, 1934 in Wolf Island, Kentucky to the late Elizabeth Conner and Joe Clayton Davis.
She was a nurse for many years, and she worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in Cairo and TIP of Illinois until she retired.
She was a member of Everdale Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board, as an usher, and was a member of the kitchen committee.
She was married to Clarence E. Robinson who preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Steve Crume of Cairo, Stanley Crume of Tamms, Illinois, and James Crume of Louisville, Kentucky, one daughter and one son-in-law, Annetta and Carl Welch of Cairo, two brothers, Robert Lee of New York, New York and William Smith of Mount Vernon, Illinois, one sister, Annie Wright of Cairo, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 11:30a.m. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Cairo High School with Bishop Paul Jones officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
