Edgar Lee Marshall, Sr., 87, resident of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born December 27, 1925 in Friars Point, MS to the late Robert and Sarah Jones Marshall.
He was employed by the City of Sikeston for over 25 years and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston.
On December 13, 1944 he was united in marriage to Almeter Smith who preceded him in death on September 25, 2012.
He is survived by eight sons and seven daughters-in-law; Edgar Lee Jr. (Pearlean) Marshall, Henry Lee Marshall and Matthew Lee (Shirley) Marshall of Sikeston, Richard Lee (Helen) Marshall of Kerrville, TX, Leroy (Joyce) Marshall of Alta Loma, California, Monroe (Regina) Marshall of Bellville, IL, Roy (Bernice) Rice of Chicago and Jimmy (Paula) Rice of Hazelcrest, IL, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lessie Mae (Joe) Barnett of Memphis, TN and Teresa (Bob) Hunter of Mansfield, OH, three brothers, Louis A. Marshall, Samuel Marshall and Quincy Marshall of Sikeston, one sister, Jessie Lane of Sikeston, 88 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Monday, April 22, 2013 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston with Pastor L J Nabors officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
