Leroy Shead

November 24, 1919 — April 21, 2013

Leroy Shead, 93, resident of Charleston died April 21, 2013 at the Charleston Manor Nursing Home. He was born November 24, 1919 in Holly Spring, MS to the late Parmena and Sylvia Plaxico Shead and had lived in Missouri since 1946.

He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Jehovah Witness Congregation where he was an elder for over 40 years.

On October 25, 1946 he was united in marriage to Elaine K. Mickens who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Joseph and Dorothy Shead of Shreveport, LA, Nathaniel and Debra Shead and Melvin and Bridget Shead of St. Louis, one daughter, Helena Shead Tucker of Charleston, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 2:00 P. M.at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1150 South Silver springs Road, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
