Nathaniel Blackmon, 63,affectionately known as "Whochie" resident of Haywood City died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home. He was born October 27, 1949 in Leland, MS to the late John D. and Dorotha Mae Selma Blackmon, Sr.

He was a graduate of Scott County Central High School Class of 1969 and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law; Brian and Erin Blackmon of Sikeston, Antonio Blackmon of Forrest City, AR, and John Blackmon of Haywood City, three daughters and one son-in-law, Angela Blackmon of Sikeston and Tracy Perkins and Trina and Frank Watson of Cape Girardeau, seven brothers, T.C. Blackmon, Willie Blackmon and
Emmanuel Blackmon of Chicago, IL, Robert Blackmon of Farmington,
MO. and John D. Blackmon of Haywood City, Jerry Dean Blackmon
of Sikeston, and Russell Phiffer of Cape Girardeau, six sisters, Beverly Lee
Blackmon of Chicago, IL., Ethel Hamilton and Joyce Scott of Sikeston, Mary Blackmon of Cape Girardeau, Dorothy Chamberlain of Haywood City, MO.
and Earnestine Blackmon of Perryville, MO, 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston with Rev. Leon Butler and Pastor Alex Sims officiating.

Interment will follow in the Haywood City Cemetery with Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
