Vercie Lee Smith

Vercie Lee Smith, 58, resident of Sikeston died Monday, August 12, 2013 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born February 1, 1955 in Dundee, Mississippi to the late Henry Eckles, Sr. and Murlean Gladney Eckles of Sikeston.

She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Sikeston Convalescent Center until March of this year.

In addition to her father she is also preceded in death by one daughter, Brook Redd.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Yolanda Redd, Tabitha Redd and Faith Redd of Sikeston, five brothers, Henry Eckles, Jr., Hosea Gladney and Leslie Eckles of Memphis, TN and Michael and Joseph Eckles of Sikeston, two sisters, Prince Gibson of St. Louis and Ennis Eckles of Sikeston, four grandchildren, one great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston with Pastor Byron Bonner of True Vine Ministries officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
