L. D. Newsome

L. D. Newsome, 97, resident of Tupelo, MS, formerly of Sikeston died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her daughter’s home. She was born November 17, 1916 in Stanton, TN to the late Alan and Irene Williamson Green.

She was a longtime member of Greer Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston where she was a former president of the Usher’s Board.

She is survived by three sons; Ocie and Eddie Mae Peet, Sr. of Racine, WI, Joe and Clara Peet, Sr. of Tupelo and Willie and Pearl Newsome of Raymore, MO, two daughters, Christine Marshall and Linda Newsome of Tupelo and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Greer Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Willie L. Newsome officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
