Roosevelt Rhoden

July 21, 1934 — October 31, 2013

Roosevelt Rhoden, 79, resident of Haywood City died October 31, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 21, 1934 in Marvell, Arkansas to the late Samuel Henderson and Roberta Hughes and had lived in Missouri for over 55 years.

He owned Rhoden Confection Store in St. Louis for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

He was united in marriage to Addie Mae Watson Rhoden who also preceded him in death in 2004. One daughter, Carlean Ray also precedes him in death.

He is survived by six sons and four daughters-in-law John and Mary Rhoden and Cletis and Jean Rhoden of Haywood City, Steve and Sherry Baker of Sikeston, Larry and Wanda Rhoden of Milwaukee, WI, Steve Morris and Christopher Morris of Elgin, IL, three daughters and one son-in-law, Dorothy (Jeannie) and Matt Curtis, Mary Stewart and Theresa Baker of Sikeston, 80 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City with the pastor, Rev. Alex Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Haywood City Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
