James "Buddy" Easton

James Easton, 63, affectionately known as “Buddy” resident of Charleston died December 19, 2013 at the Charleston Manor Nursing Facility. He was born December 14, 1950 in Charleston to the late William and Izilor Humphrey Easton and was of the Baptist faith.

He was a graduate of Charleston High School Class of 1969 where he played basketball. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharge on July 20, 1976.

He is survived by two sons, Killion Easton of Bessemer, AL and Nicky Sledge of St. Louis, one brother, Nathan Campbell of North Carolina, two sisters, Leora Hamilton of Charleston and Toni Watts of Flint, MI, two grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon with Pastor Darrin Horrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
