Ophelia M. Rowe, 70, resident of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Charleston died Monday, March 17, 2014. She was born August 1, 1943 in Marston, MO to the late H.D. Rowe Sr. and Odessie Sanders Rowe.
She lived her youth at 34-Corner MO and graduated from Anniston High School in 1962. Shortly after, she joined the Women Army Corp and was stationed in Annapolis, MD. After her discharge, she met and married Levi Walker in 1969.
She was employed with the Social Security Administration for several years and later worked for the US Postal Service where she remained until her illness.
She is survived by one son, Eric Walker of Baltimore, one brother, Tommie Rowe of Jefferson City, MO, three sisters, Almeta Sloan of Clarksville, TN, Carrie Wade of St. Louis, Mo, and Ruth Hart of Charleston, two special friends, Sharon Merrick and Bessie Clayborne of Baltimore, nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Friends may call Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Reverend Ronald Sloan officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.Guestbook
