Helen Gene Johnson, 77, resident of Haywood City died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born February 13, 1937 in Philadelphia, MS to the late Henry and Daisy Campbell Brown .

She was a member of Greer’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston where she served on the Mother’s Board and was a member of the Senior Choir and was a member of the singing group, “The Johnson Aires”.

She was united in marriage to Rev. Roosevelt Johnson who also precedes her in death.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Vanessa Johnson of Grant City, Jreece and Cora Johnson and Pastor Paul and Nicole Johnson of Haywood City, and Melvin and Bridgett Johnson of Bell City, six daughters and three sons-in-law, Rosemary Owen of Haywood City, Rev. Bridgette (Pastor Melvin) Williams of East Prairie, Sylvia and Frank Ellis of Cape Girardeau, Pamela and Lester Gillespie of Charleston, Katherine Johnson of Norfolk, VA and Andrea Johnson of Kline, TX, one brother, Jimmy Brown of Haywood City, two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Haywood City and Sylvia Jamison of Freeport, IL, 41 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Friday, June 20, 2014 from 5:00 P. M. – 7:00 P. M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Greers’ Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with Rev. Bridgette Williams officiating.

Interment will be in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
