Richard M. Hemphill, 59, resident of Charleston, died September 11, 2014 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born January 20, 1955 in Charleston to the late David and Lenora Fulks Hemphill and was of the Methodist faith.
He was a graduate of Charleston High School Class of 1973and a laborer in retail.
He was formerly married to Juliet Kent Hemphill of Yamika, WA.
He is survived by three brothers, Bishop David Hemphill and Rev. Ray Hemphill of Milwaukee, WI and Jeffrey Hemphill of Albuquerque, NM, one sister, Frances Hemphill of Jefferson City, MO, a special niece that he helped to raise, Shanda Hemphill of Cape Girardeau and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 10:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Bishop David Hemphill officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
