James Spencer Brown

James Spencer Brown, 85, resident of Charleston died Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. He was born July 29, 1929 in Morley to the late James Spencer and Irene Livingston Brown, Sr.

He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge, was a member Union Baptist Church in Pinhook and was previously employed by Mueller Farms in Bertrand for many years.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Bradley Brown who also precedes him in death.

He is survived by six sons, R. B. Brown of Charleston, Terry Brown and Billy Brown of Memphis, TN, Richard Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin Brown of Indianapolis, IN and Michael Brown of Atlanta, GA, two daughters, Josephine Davis of Memphis and Debra Bibbs of Chicago, one sister, Gladys Reed of Milwaukee, WS, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 1:00 P. M. until the 2:00 P. M. at St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with the pastor, Rev. Floyd Wade, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with Full Military Rites with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
