Helen Jewel Douglas

Helen Douglas, 87, resident of Charleston died October 1, 2014 at Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 7, 1927 in Tiptonville, TN to the late Elvin and Katherine Dunlow Douglas.

She was a former employee of Burkart Foam Company in Cairo and was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt where she served on the Mother’s Board.

She was united in marriage to Richard Douglas, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1983. A son, Wardell Coleman also preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law; Richard and Peggy Douglas of Wyatt and Dorothy Coleman of Charleston, one step daughter, Ossie B. Webster of Chicago, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Friends may call Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt with Elder Elvin Greer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements
