Joe Willie Williams Sr

Pastor Joe Willie Williams, Sr. 72, resident of Cairo died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home. He was born February 9, 1942 in Parma, Missouri to the late Cleveland and Elizabeth Williams.

Pastor Williams was the pastor of Everdale Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo where he served for 12 years. He was formerly employed by Cairo Public Utilities where he retired after 27 years of service.

Pastor Williams was united in marriage to Priscilla Streeter-Williams who preceded him in death. He is survived in home by his present wife Carla Moore-Williams.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Stephen K. Williams of Cleveland, OH, Alphonso E. Williams of Fort Myers, FL, and Joe W. Williams, Jr. of Cairo, three daughters, Brickey Summers and Stacey Summers of Murphysboro, IL and Michelle Hankley of Marion, IL, seven stepsons, Acy Streeter of Cleveland, Howard K. (Debra) Streeter of Swansea, IL, Anthony E. (Kathleen) Streeter, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Clarence Lowe of Cape Girardeau, MO, Charles E. Lowe Jr. of Decatur,IL, Bryant E. Lowe of Chicago, IL and Brandon F. Lowe of Tamms, IL, one stepdaughter, Stephanie Lowe of Marion, IL, six brothers, Carl (Celeste) Williams, Freddie (Susie) Williams, J.B. Williams, and Clarence Williams of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Leroy Williams and Danny Williams (deceased), five sisters, Louise Clark of Benton Harbor, MI, Sharlean (Raffreal) Williams, Estella (James) Edwards of Fort Lauderdale, Mary Williams and Bernice Steele (deceased), a special cousin, Mary Majors of Indianapolis, IN, the entire Everdale church family, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Everdale Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Paul Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial in Villa Ridge, IL. The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
