Dorothy P. Riggens

Dorothy Riggens, 82, resident of Charleston died December 29, 2014 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 15, 1932 in Blytheville, AR to the late Joseph and Susie M. Davis Sinks.

She was a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston where served on the Mother’s Board.

She was united in marriage to Charlie Riggens who also precedes her in death.

She is survived by eight sons; Charles (Mae) Riggens of Hinesville, GA,
Ronnie (Sharon) Riggens of Charleston, Ardest (Reatta) Riggens of Sikeston , Duane (Beverly) Riggens of Chicago, Donnell Riggens, Finney (Martha) Riggens , George (Val) Riggens, and Louis (Vickie) Riggens of Fort Wayne IN, Harvey (Stephanie) McCain of Charleston, four daughters; Gloria (James) Holmes of Chicago, Shirley (Larry) Howard of Fort Wayne, Pat (Owen) Terry of Cairo IL, Barbara Cleaves of Charleston and Louise (Everett) Wood of Mounds IL, two grandsons whom she raised Rahshun Davis and Robert Davis of Fort Wayne, one granddaughter whom she raised Cassandra Dowell of Charleston, , two brothers Lynn Hamilton and Jerome Hamilton of Charleston, three sisters, Clemeteen Green of Chicago, Ernestine Clark and Bernice Hamilton of Charleston, 58 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 1:00 P. M. until the funeral hour of 2:00 P. M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with the pastor, Elder Arthur Cassell officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
