Tim Whitney Sr

Tim Whitney, Sr. 93, resident of Charleston died, January 26, 2015 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born August 21, 1921 in Clarksdale, MS to the late Walter and Susie Mix Whitney, Sr.

He was a member of Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston where he served as an Elder.

He was united in marriage to Elsie Bradley who also precedes him in death.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law; Timothy and Penny Whitney, Jr. of Sikeston and Bobby and LaTonya Whitney of Charleston, five daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Titus Bradley of Nashville, TN, Frances and Edward Brown of Champaign, IL, Darlene and Maurice Saykles of Urbana, IL, Dorothy and Lynn Cozart of Murphysboro, IL, and Norma and David Williams of Charleston, three grandchildren whom he raised, Rita Whitney, Tonika Williams and Donald Whitney , two brothers, Henry Whitneyof Fort Myers, FL and Walter Whitney of Wilson City, two sisters, Erma Whitney and Ruby Whitney of Charleston and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 1:00 P M. until the funeral hour of 2:00 P. M. at Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston with the pastor, Supt. Steve Betts officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
