Moses Farr

Moses Farr, 88, resident of Chicago, IL died Sunday, March 29, 2015. He was born January 11, 1927 in Bernice, MO (Stoddard County) to the late James and Mary Farr.

He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army in October 1956. Moses later retired from the United States Postal Service after 28 years of faithful service.

In 1958, Moses met and married Katherine, a marriage that lasted 55 years until her death.

Moses was a member of Monumental Missionary Baptist Church and was a part of the Silver Star Singers.

Moses is survived by ten brothers, John C. Farr of Chicago, IL, Clifton Farr, Clennon Farr, Clayton Farr, Floyd Farr, and Albert Gene Farr all of Howardville, MO, Richard Lee Farr of Sikeston, MO, Larry Farr of Augusta, GA, WC Farr of Northwood, MO, and Luther Farr of Jonesboro, AR, two sisters, Liza Mae Lofton and Lila Mae Crisp of Howardville, MO, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at Pilgrim’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn, MO with Reverend Floyd Farr officiating. Interment will follow in Simmon’s Park Cemetery in Catron, Mo with full military rites.
