Emmitt Gillespie Sr.

July 30, 1940 — April 16, 2015

Emmitt Gillespie, Sr., 74, resident of Charleston died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 30, 1940 in Henson, Missouri to the late Theodore and Sarah Smith Gillespie.
He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Henson and was a retired farmer.

He was united in marriage to Georgia Mae Haynes who preceded him in death on February 22, 2015.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Emmett (Karisa) Gillespie, Jr. of Charleston, two daughters and one son-in-law, Julie Sager and Tonya Gillespie (Joseph) White of Kansas City, MO, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 11:00 A. M. -12:00 P. M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:00 P. M. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Henson with the pastor, Rev. Sylvester Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
