Rogers Banks, Jr., 65, resident of Haywood City, died April 23, 2015 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born August 29, 1949 in Bell City to the late Rogers and Virgie Lee Sims Banks, Sr.

He was employed by Lewis Furniture in Sikeston until his health failed and was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City.

He was united in marriage to Jimmie Lue Fort Banks who survives of Haywood City.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons and one daughter-in-law; Rogers ( Shika) Banks III of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Freddie Banks of Haywood City, Jarron Banks of Sikeston and Monte Stilley of Atlanta, five daughters, Sabrina Banks, Yolanda Banks and Dazia Stilley of Haywood City, Taldedia Banks of Atlanta and Georgia Daniels of Cape Girardeau, six brothers, Melvin Banks of Sikeston, Donald Banks, Delbert Banks and Oscar Townsend of Haywood City and Larry Townsend and Marvin Townsend of Chicago, three sisters, Sarah Woodson of Haywood City, Aretha Smoot of Chicago and Abigail Smith of St. Louis, his mother-in-law, Annie Fort of Haywood City, 17 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, May 2, 2014 from 11:00 A. M. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City with the pastor, Rev. Alex Sims officiating. The Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
