Robert Louis Dixon

Robert L. Dixon, 87, resident of Sikeston formerly of Charleston died June 1, 2015 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 4, 1927 in Thompson Bend, MO to the late Ozark and Essie Martin Dixon.

He was a career veteran of the United States Army serving from 1947 to 1969, where he received an honorable discharge.

He was united in marriage to Mary Robinson who preceded him in death in 2012.

He was a member of Temple Praise and Deliverance Church in Sikeston where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by one sister, Rose Mary Dixon Smith of Sikeston, two step daughters, Brenda Robinson and Carolyn Robinson of the state of Maryland, a grandson whom he raised, Michael Robinson of Maryland and a great granddaughter whom he raised, Anya Robinson of Maryland and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston with the pastor, Supt. Steve Betts officiating.

Interment will follow immediately after the service in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with full military honors.
