Henry Carlton

Henry Carlton, 63 resident of Cairo, died November 6, 2015 at his home. He was born March 26, 1952 in Cairo to the late Jimmy and Justine Randolph Carlton, Sr. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Carlton, Norman Carlton and Billy Joe Carlton.

He was a graduate of Cairo High School Class of 1969. After graduating he attended Draughons Business College in Paducah, KY, DeVry Institute of Technology and Wilburt Wright Community College in Chicago where he received various associate degrees.

He was employed by the Illinois State Patrol as a Radio Technician, was a Licensed Realtor and member of Pipe Fitters Local 597.

He was a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop John I. Cobb.

He was united in marriage to Jereldine Carlton who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark (Cora) Carlton and Donald Carlton of Cairo, two daughters, Sherri Carlton of Rantoul, Illinois and Linda Carlton of Champaign, IL, four brothers, Jimmy (Linda) Carlton, Jr of Salisbury, Maryland, Johnnie Carlton of Chicago,
Melvin (Ora) Carlton of Davenport, Iowa and Sylvester (Glenda) of Cairo, four sisters, Mae Francis Kenny of Cape Girardeau, Ida Mae (Roosevelt) Clayton and Geraldine (Joe) Nelson of Cairo, and Lillie Hopkin of Addison, IL, 10 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special nieces, Regina Carlton Brown and Pamela Carlton of Cairo.

Friends may visit Saturday, November 14, 2015 at First Central Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 P. M. with Rev. Lorenzo Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Villa Ridge with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements
