Willie Clifton Hughes, 72, affectionately known as "Cliff" resident of Lilbourn died January 1, 2016 at Missouri Delta medical Center in Sikeston. He was born October 8, 1943 in Aberdeen, MS to the late Oscar and Mary Agnes Moore Hughes.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from June 1968 until January 1970 where he received an honorable discharge.
He is survived by one daughter, Tamika Phillips of Tulsa, OK, nine brothers, John Richard Hughes, Gregory Hughes, Okie Hughes, and Richard Smith of Lilbourn, Spencer Lee Perkins, and Albert Smith of New Madrid, Edward Hughes and L. t. Hughes of Detroit, and Merdice Ronnie Hughes of Cape Girardeau, nine sisters, Mary Evans of Eufaula, AL, Barbara Jo Bradley and Jacqualynn Moore of Detroit, Gale Grandberry and Almarie Farr of Lilbourn, Ruby Gilstrap of Warrensburg, MO, Thelma Smith of St. Louis, Mae Francis Smith of Rockford, IL and Irma Robinson of Cape Girardeau, three aunts, Lillian Smith and Vivian Smith of Toledo, OH and Doris (Leroy) Meaks of Detroit, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday, January 8, 2015 from 10:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 11:00 A. M. at the New Madrid Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites. The Williams Funeral Home of Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
