Mary Alice Adams

July 27, 1921 — March 10, 2016

Mary Alice Adams, 94, formerly of Lilbourn, died March 10, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born July 27, 1921 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to the late James and Clara Davis.

Mary was a life-long member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she was on The Mother Board, Missionary Society, and in the Senior Church Choir. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and quilting.

She married Hollie Adams in 1939 and they were married for 28 years. He preceded her in death in 1967.

She is survived by seven sons, James H. Adams and Eugene Adams of Chicago, Sammie Adams and Keith Adams of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Russell Adams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John Adams of Danville, Illinois, and Donnell Adams of Hilo, Hawaii, three daughters, Clara B. Hill and Phyllis E. Adams of Chicago, and Bettie J. Hobbs of Romeoville, Illinois, two sisters, Maggie Kelly and Ruth Barber of St. Louis, Missouri, 45 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call, Saturday, March 26, 2016, from 1:00PM until the funeral hour of 2:00P.M. at Life Changers Ministries in Lilbourn with Keith Frye, pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
