Rosie Lee Kent, 82, resident of Charleston, died March 24, 2016, at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Home. She was born June 28, 1933 in Macon, Mississippi to the late Albert and Lucille Reed.
Rosie was a faithful member of Opportunity Church of God in Christ where she served on the Mother Board. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and sewing.
She married Odell Kent on October 27, 1951 and they were married for 57 years. He preceded her in death in 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Albert Reed and Odell Kent, Jr. of Charleston, seven daughters and five son-in-laws, Rosie (E. Charles) Ivy, Lucille (Kelvin) Anderson, Jessie (Charles) Gillespie, Lula Kent, and Geraldine (Warren) Fisher of Charleston, Lori (Milus) Walker of Sikeston, Missouri and Betty (R.V.) Oliver of Mayfield, Kentucky, one sister, Susie Kent of Charleston, three grandchildren she raised in the home, Curtis (Carissa) Kent of Champaign, Illinois, Monique Mitchell of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and Victor Kent of Charleston, 35 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call, Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M. at Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston with Superintendent Steve Betts officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
