Allen Dixon

Allen Harrison Dixon, 79, resident of Charleston, Missouri died March 27, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born May 9, 1936 in Charleston to the late Abney James and Georgia McGee Dixon.

He was a faithful member of Perry Chapel A.M.E. Church, and he worked at Burkhart Foam, Inc. in Cairo, Illinois for many years until they closed.

Allen married Florence Brown Dixon on September 21, 1971 and she survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law, Marcus and Paula Dixon of Memphis, Tennessee, six daughters and two sons-in-law, Tiffany Dixon and Chatonya and Jeff Farries of Charleston, Valerie and Joe Travis of Chicago, Illinois, Mae White and Ellen Dixon of Columbus, Ohio, and Juanita Hope of Springfield, Missouri, grand children, one great grandchild, nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at Perry Chapel AME Church with Pastor Carolyn Kent officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
