Janet Marie Jones

Janet “JJ” Marie Jones was born on November 11, 1958 in Charleston, Missouri to Phillip (Deborah) Turner Sr. and the late Dorothy Bernice Johnson. She grew up in Charleston, where she received her education. She met her husband Michael Jones at a local Jr. High basketball game and they fell in love which led to their marriage on Sept 9, 1979. They had 4 beautiful children Yalonda, Michael Jr, Terrance and Shaterica. She loved her softball team where she was known to hit balls over the fence. Her love for bingo opened up an avenue to a host of cherished friends of all ages. She accepted Christ at a young age and sung in the choir. She was a member of Ollie Grove Baptist Church of Wlison City MO. She later rededicated her life to Christ and joined Floyd Chapel Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Women’s Ministry, and Usher Board until GOD called her home. She was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy B. Johnson, mother in-law Mary Elizabeth Jones, Brothers: Jimmie Moore, Billy Johnson, Marcus Johnson, and nephew Tamar Moore.
Janet Jones leaves behind Father Phillip (Deborah) Turner Sr, with memories to be cherished by her loving husband Michael A. Jones Sr., daughter Yalonda (Joseph) Fredericks, sons Michael Jones Jr., Terrance Jones Sr., and youngest daughter Shaterica Jones. Grandchildren: Sio’Nisia, Marquis, Micah, Saadiah, Stanley, Terrance Jr., Gabriel, Syrenity, and Shamir. Brothers: Ronald (Flora) Moore of Michigan, Dennis Moore of California, Phillip Turner Jr of Charleston. Sisters: Calestine Moore of Chicago, IL, Linda (Dave) Retel of Chicago, IL, Regina (Cedric) Smith of Chicago, IL, Janice Coleman of Chicago, IL, Reatta (Ardest) Riggens of Sikeston, MO, Toni (Mamon) Ross-Trotter of Indiana, Ella (Walter) Brewer of Charleston, MO, Laura (Aaron) Craig of St. Louis, MO, a host of surrogate children, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
