Kathryn Mae Davis, affectionately known as Kat, 69, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born June 19, 1947 in Dorena, Missouri to the late Bert and Ella Mae Chick Quinn.
She was First Lady at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Wolf Island, Missouri from 2001 until 2011, and then she became First Lady of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Henson, Missouri where she remained faithful until her death.
Kathryn was a bus driver for Charleston Headstart DAEOC for 14 years. She was also active with the Green Thumb program as a Nutrient Educator.
On March 28, 1963, she was united in marriage to Sylvester Davis, and they were blessed with over 53 years together.
In addition to her husband, Reverend Sylvester Davis, she is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Sylvester Lee and Josephine Davis of Memphis, Tennessee, Edward and Mary Davis of Seattle, Washington, Donald Davis of Elkart, Indiana, and Maurice Davis of Bertrand, Missouri, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Evon and Charles Cassell of Sikeston, Missouri, Jennifer and James Smith, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, two brothers Jimmy "Chick" Quinn of Wilson City, Missouri, and Melvin Quinn of Henderson, Kentucky, one sister, Lena Mae Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Friends may call Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Reverend Bridgett Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
