Robert Lee Strayhorn, Sr., 51, resident of East Prairie, Missouri died Friday, March 10, 2017 peacefully in his home. He was born January 2, 1966 in Wolf Island, Missouri to Roy Strayhorn of East Prairie, Missouri and the late Vada "Doll" Porter Strayhorn.
He lived in East Prairie most of his life. Robert was a farm worker and a fantastic cook. He was a former member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, Robert is survived by one son, Robert Lee Strayhorn, Jr. of Florida, five daughters, April Tipler of Charleston, Missouri, Sumnar Strayhorn of Grove, Texas, Shalonda Strayhorn of Beaumont, Texas, Jesse Strayhorn of Salem, Illinois, and Rodele Clark of East Prairie, six brothers, Jimmy Strayhorn of South Haven, Mississippi, Patrick Strayhorn of East Prairie, Anthony Strayhorn of Paducah, Kentucky, Jose Strayhorn of Atlanta, Georgia, Gregorio Strayhorn of Joplin, Missouri, and Quinton Strayhorn of Charleston, Missouri, one sister, Brianna Strayhorn of Charleston, four granddaughters, a special friend, Adele "Bunny" Clark of East Prairie, other relatives and many friends.
Friends may call Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Reverend Sylvester Davis officiating.
