Charles Hardin Jackson, Sr., 95, resident of Wilson City, Missouri died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He was born August 10, 1921 in Camden, Tennessee to the late Carl and Cora Gant Jackson.
Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II.
He was married to Josephine Brown Jackson who preceded him in death.
One son Richard Jackson and one daughter Debra Williams also preceded him in death.
Charles was a pillar of his community. He had served in several capacities. He was the mayor, a police officer, and a board member of Wilson City, Missouri.
He was a hard worker and very well-liked. Charles was a retired business man and construction worker. He worked on the Cairo Bridge in Illinois. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Charles is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law, Charles (Teresa) Jackson, Jr. of Charleston, Missouri, five daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda Jackson and Patricia Tunstall of Portage, Michigan, Vicki (Pressley) Green of Detroit, Michigan, Vorner (Jesse) Bowens of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Naimah (Salaam, Sr.) Muhammad of Fort Wayne, Indiana, three additional sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald Jones, Marcus Jackson, and Melvin (Alisa) Williams of Wilson City, Missouri, 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Jesse Bowens officiating.
