Edna Earl Stevens

Edna Stevens, resident of Haywood City, Missouri, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born February 12, 1948 in Como, Mississippi to the late Jimmie Fort and Annie Salter Fort of Haywood City. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by one son, Major Daniel, Jr.

She married Henry Earl Stevens on February 6, 2013, and he survives of the home.

She was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City. Edna served as an election judge for the village of Haywood City until her health failed. She was also employed with the Hat Factory of Oran, Missouri.

In addition to her husband, Edna is survived by one son, Martin Daniel of Haywood City, four daughters and one son-in-law, Connie (Mike) Hamilton, Catina Daniel, Cassandra Daniel, and Contessa Daniel all of Haywood City, four brothers and two sisters-in-law, James Fort of St. Louis, Henry Fort and John (Patricia) Fort of Haywood City, and Willie (Brenda) Fort of Pickerington, Ohio, two sisters, Stella Richardson of Wright City, Missouri and Penny Banks of Haywood City, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour of 11:00 am at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Alex Sims officiating. Interment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00 am.
